Yeah, but what he was getting at was that the issue in question has to do with contamination of the metal before it was painted at the factory.

Ford wrote it's corrosion warranty in such a way that unless there is a hole all the way through the panel they don't have to do anything. And let's face it, unless you live in the middle of the Utah salt flats and had a bare metal vehicle, that wouldn't happen within the 3 year bumper-to-bumper warranty period, and even then it might not.
I keep hearing that with everyone going to aluminum body panels (like the F150) body shops are getting better at preparing the aluminum prior to paint.

My 2013 had the corrosion starting on the underside of the hood by 2015. I've also got rust on the underside of the trunk lid along the seam.

Can you imagine the disaster brewing with the new F150's being all-aluminum? They took a big gamble there.

I've been wondering the same thing. When will the F150s start showing the issue? There were several articles written about how Ford changed their handling of the panels for the F150, used clean rooms, new tools that will only be used on the aluminum panels, etc etc. I'm hoping they did, and I'm hoping they applied this to the other vehicles that use aluminum panels. It's a bummer when an otherwise perfect panel starts showing the signs, and the pain starts peeling.

I work at a used car dealership, and we have seen it on every vehicle that Ford puts an aluminum hood on. Hence the concern for the 15+ F150s since they are all aluminum. Everyone at work knows I'm a Ford guy, so I get my "chops" busted for every Ford that has the issue. Trust me, to my utter dismay I have seen (or be shown) plenty of other Ford vehicles with the hood corrosion problem.

I believe you, but since I have a 2006 Stang, I don't read the other Ford forums. I have only heard about it happening on Mustangs.
