Hood Corrosion
#32
It took a year & a half to get my hood replaced on my 2014 Mustang GT. They actually have a kit from AKZO to repair minor corrosion. They were going to do that with my car but when they started sanding they found the corrosion was too severe and had spread up to 20" away from the original site. Maybe they could have stopped it early? Anyway, they replaced my hood. All under warranty, fortunately. Ford really dislikes being responsible for corrosion.

It would have been nice if Ford would have giving us a fiberglass replacement. Even with a new hood, there is still the potential for it to happen again. The Ford rep. told me the only way to stop it is with a fiberglass hood.

That's utter crap, especially considering the weight difference. Fiberglass hoods are much heavier than the OEM hood. What they should do is get you a new aluminum hood for free.

For example, I've been trying to swap my interior to black from the current beige, but by the time I finish adding all the parts it's cheaper to buy a new car
