Default Need help with blend door actuator replacement

Hey guys, I'm finally getting around to replacing my blend door actuator. I pulled the bad one and am trying to find a replacement part but I'm a bit confused. The part I have is marked 6R33-19E616-BA

American muscle has the following two options:
6R3Z19E616B
6R3Z19E616A

Does anyone know what I need? I would like to be able to pickup a replacement from the auto parts store tomorrow if someone has it in stock but I don't know what to look for. I'm replacing the one on the passenger side. Looking from the glove box its the top one in the center (behind the radio). I'm not sure if this is a defrost one or regular. Any tips? I couldn't find a diagram or anything showing which actuator is which.

I replaced the blend door behind the radio awhile ago. It was the one on top like this guy showed in the video.

I had to do it twice because the first replacement unit was from Dorman and it failed within a week. Dorman is junk. A lot of people had their Dorman units fail too. I later purchased the one from Motorcraft and it's been working great. I got mine on Amazon.

The seller incorrectly calls it a shifter bushing but it's the right part number. The Ford cross reference part number is 6R3Z19E616A.
Amazon Amazon

You can also see the part numbers in the list on Rockauto.com.

By the way, I heard that all of the blend doors are the same. Not sure why they have A or B at the end of the part numbers. If you look in the Ford service manual, the part numbers for all of the doors are 19E616.

Click on "Mode Door" in the left pane.

Cool, I'm replacing the same one. Any idea if this is something a dealer would keep in stock? Id love to go ahead and replace it tomorrow, but I suppose I can order it from Amazon and wait a few days if needed.

I don't know if dealers keep them in stock. Parts departments are usually closed on Sundays; at least the ones near me. I wouldn't buy from a dealer and pay dealer prices though.

My dad's 09 Sable also failed so probably common across the board.

There are two different ones, but I think per ford it's the same part number. The "Air Inlet" should be the one on the drivers side. The "Defrost" should be the one on the passengers side though. I replaced my passenger side one, now I gotta do the driver's side. Check rockauto.com and other sites as well. I think you can get factory motorcraft for $20-$30. I don't know if these OPR ones from American Muscle would be better or worse.

If it's behind the glove box (passenger side) at the top of the center stack, that's not your blend door. That one controls the vents between the dash and defrost setting. There's one on the drivers side on the direct opposite side that controls the vents between the dash and floor.

YH1865 (motorcraft number) is the one you want for the blend door and it's located on the passenger side of the center stack at the bottom (below the one it sounds like you pulled).

More than you will ever want to know about them...

Well I got the one linked from Amazon and it appears to be the wrong part. It looks identical to the one I took out except it only has 2 pins in the connector instead of 5.

The one I originally had is marked 6R33-19E616-BA while the new one is 6R33-19E616-AA

And idea where I went wrong and what I need to order?

So it seems that the only difference between the two is that the BA has some sort of optical sensor (I assume) inside and the mounting alignment slot is different. So I just took the new part, added the sensor and trimmed the slot and put it in. Seems to work but I have one question for you guys.

Does the defroster normally turn on when you run the foot AC setting? Everything seems normal except the defrost stays on for the foot setting and I dont know if thats right.
