Default clunk over bumps - not sure what else to check now

Hey Guys,

I have been chasing the mustang clank and creak for a while. Every time I hit a bump I get a clunk sound. And there is creak over every little imperfection, its almost constant. I believe I have replaced everything that moves. lol. What should I do next?

Replaced:
- Control arms - 2 years ago - GT500 replacements
- tie rods - 2 years ago - Moog (greased via zerks 1-2 times a year)
- end links - 6 months ago or less - Moog (greased last week)
- rear shocks - 2 weeks ago - Monroe
- Struts - last week - Monroe

What could be left making a the sounds? I am tired of hearing it and it is driving me nuts.

Thanks.

I have a body shop I go to for squeks and rattles.

Call around to some body shops near where you live.

Last time I took it in turned out to be part of the front brake assembly.

It may be your upper strut mounts.
My 07 had a thunk sound when I went over any little bump.
Here's a link to the thunk thread.
https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...ing-noise.html
I bought mine 12/06 and by 2/07 I knew I had the thunk.
I think mostly it was the 05-07 coupe that had the thunk.
The convertible didn't thunk. It had a brace the coupe didn't have.
Starting in 08 the coupe had the brace on it.
Ford sent my dealer some replacement upper strut mounts finally
and I added a CHE K brace at that time.
Squeaks and creaks I don't know, but on my 07 the thunk was upper strut mounts.
Good luck.

I don't see sway bar bushings or upper strut mounts in your list? The sway bar bushing are what made the difference for me. That was the last of my clunking after replacing everything like you did. Strut mounts I'd say were nada.

I just replace the whole struct assembly. I installed the quick-structs from monroe. So unless I don't know what an upper strut mount is, that would have been replaced when I changed out assembly. Right?

When you say brace, do you mean the strut tower brace that reaches from one side to the other inside the engine bay?

I wouldn't have guessed the rubber bushing from the sway bar could be heard in the cabin. They didn't look broken down when I was under the car. But I can give the once over again next time I am under there.

What part of the assembly was it, do you recall?

The Upper Strut Mount would have been part of the whole assembly you purchased. It's what the four nuts in the engine bay attach to, to attach the strut to the car. The metal plate all the way down to the where the top of the spring contacts is what's called the Upper Strut Mount. It has a bearing assembly in there to allow articulation. That bearing assembly is known to wear and cause clunking from having play in the various components when the bearing assembly fails.

No, it's not a strut tower brace. It's a crossmember brace that goes under the car.

Part numbers for the Ford brace are in this thread
https://mustangforums.com/forum/v6-s...d-07-v6-s.html

I purchased the CHE brace
