Mustang Hood Corrosion

I was wondering if anyone had any new info on the 2005-2014 Mustang hood corrosion problem? There was suppose to be a pending lawsuit against Ford out in California with Ridout Lyonand + Ottoson LLP Lawfirm in Long Beach California about the hood corrosion due to factory contamination on most 2005-2014 Mustangs hoods .

Have you tried contacting the office that was leading that lawsuit? Probably get the most current and accurate information from them vs word of mouth or speculation.

I believe it got thrown out. Makes you want to buy another ford don't it?

unless it has to do with safety lawsuits generally go right out the door, I suggest buying a new hood and slapping it on there. Ford will never cover the cost of replacing a hood for corrosion unless warranted by the court and that will likely never happen. ****ty deal I know but it is what it is.

Agreed. This issue has been going on as long as Ford has been using the aluminum panels. I have seen it on cars as new as 2015. Several models beyond just the Mustang use aluminum, and have the corrosion issue. I'm still wondering how the new aluminum F150s will hold up over time.

You would think after several years of using aluminum they could get it right. Your right that it will be interesting how the F150s will hold up. Could be a lot of unsatisfied customers out there if it doesn't. Heck the F150s with the turbo were starting to have problems b/c of the place where they chose to mount it.

Curious, without getting too far off topic, what kinda problems with the F150 turbo and where are they mounting them?

My 2014 Mustang GT developed hood corrosion. It took over a year but they finally replaced the hood. It was done under the 3/36 warranty.
