Blowfish Racing Shifter Support Kit V2 installed.

Hey everyone, I finished installation of my Blowfish Racing Shifter Support Kit V2 yesterday and I thought I would share some tips. This kit is their new version in which the mounting plate and lower bracket are now two separate pieces which makes installation easier. You don't need to remove the transmission crossmember completely even though the instruction says so. This is especially useful for those who have exhaust hanger hooks that attach to the crossmember like mine. If you have these hooks, you won't be able to get the crossmember out even if you lift the tranmission all the way up and touching the tunnel. The crossmember will still hit a small protrusion on the tranny and prevent removal. You'd have to remove the exhaust midpipe which would be a pain in the butt. Anyway, you just need to get enough room in between the crossmember and tranny to install the mounting plate that you see in my pictures. After that, the rest is pretty easy although there is one procedure which will require small hands and small 10mm wrenches and that is the tightening of the adapter bracket to your aftermarket shifter's body mount up in the transmission tunnel. You might cuss, you might have wrenches fall on your face. :icon_mrgreen:

Shifting now feels more precise and you do have a little more NVH. It's more of a slight vibration on the shifter knob. I do have a BMR K-member with tubular A-arms so that adds to it. I like it though.

By the way, the instructions said to torque the crossmember bolts to 85 ft/lb but I checked the service manual and it's only 46 ft/lb.
