Default Window issue

ok so when I roll down the passanger side window some times when it goes up it goes outside the seal making a gap in the window. So my question is what could be wrong to make it do that. I’ve searched lots on this but no one has posted anything like this.

It's a coupe, it's always outside the seal... There is no window
frame, so the window sits on the seal, on the outside of it, always.

You're not 100% clear on the issue. Pictures REALLY help...

It’s hard to explain but I will get a pic next time it does it. What it does is instead of sitting in the seal it jumps out of the grove and goes above it. Leaving a half inch gap in it on the back seal for air or water to come in.

Try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes and letting the computer reset

If that doesn't work (and it should), try the window reset procedure. With windows up press the down button until the window retracts completely and hold for an extra 2 seconds. Then roll up and hold for an extra 2 seconds.

Looks like the window track is out of alignment or one or more guides has broken. As the track nears the top of its travel it's not holding against the rail like it should so it allows the glass to to pop out.

You'd have to take the inner door panel out to inspect the track/rail assembly.

Ok finally had time to tear into and found out that it needs a new regulator. The back side that holds to the track is broke off.

Ah, glad you found the issue, sucks about the problem though. Haven't done one on these cars. If you search on Youtube for S197 windows track replacement or similar you'll find plenty of vids on how to do it.
