I didn't vote - there is a HUGE difference between driving on snow versus ice. I will drive my Oh Five all winter, but I don't drive on ice (regardless of the vehicle). Here in the mid-Atlantic area, "black-ice" is more common than the type of ice storms that can hit the south. Traction control and plenty of weight in the trunk will get me through the snow (provided it's <4"!).

No driving in the snow for my 06 ... Here in NYC they use salt & calcium chloride to melt snow & ice ...

Same here...

In Chicago, the city uses tons and tons of salt and chemicals on the streets...

This has proven to be bad on a cars finish, undercarriage, wheels and interior...

Mine will be "put to sleep" for about 5 months...

I bet we all would love to see a beautiful new Mustang with a nasty set of studded snow tires on it! Especially a full set of four. If anyone does this to their car, PLEASE send us pics!![sm=feedback.gif][sm=goodidea.gif][sm=itsok.gif]

I just hope car #2 arrives before roadsalt goes down...hope to get it home before ever getting wet if possible, as intend to POR-15 the entire underside before it ever gets a chance to think about rusting...I hate rust, always have/always will, but in northeast ohio, its just a fact of life...as I keep cars too long, undercoating wont work for me(past experience was around 10 years it rusts underneath- hidden from view), after spending a year under a rotted 65 galaxie, decided long ago next new car would get POR15 tank sealer in the rockers, & fully painted undercarriage. Will give me something to do during the bad weather season too. Still need to clean/acid etch/POR15 inside one door on the wifes windstar before winter, and might go over it underneath too...too late to prevent whats there, but if anything will stop it in its tracks its phosphoric acid and POR15. heres a link to the galaxie project...if you got a weak stomach for rust damage, dont look:
