Weird "knocking" noise from engine bay
there's a strange "knocking" noise in my engine. i do regular oil changes (every 3k miles, i'm old school, and i run Mobile one synthetic 5W20) so it shouldn't be related to that. 2014 GT 5.0 Premium. 35000 miles. bolt ons: boss 302 air intake manifold. bbk 90mm throttle body. bbk 1 7/8's long tubes and x pipe, GT500 mufflers, bbk cold air intake and plenty of suspension mods and exterior stuff, none of these things SHOULD create this problem. here's the link to my youtube with the video, please have a look and see if you know what it may be. i'm at my wits end. one friend said it may be a loose rod. notice the "knock" doesn't increase or decrease with engine RPM's. looking for feedback. thanks

I don't hear a "knock", just a ton of engine noise...

i know, i know its hard. it's more of a "thump thump thump" than a proper knock, but thanks for looking!

Check if there's enough clearance between the headers and the frame rails. Any movement of the engine when you rev it up might be enough to cause one of them to foul.

Get a mechanic's stethoscope and probe around and see where it is loudest to locate where it is coming from. It is hard to tell what it is on video because there is no way to get a sense of direction. What I hear could be an exhaust manifold leak or a coil break down and spark jumping...or something else. But those would increase frequency with RPM. If it truly does not follow RPM frequency, could the fan be hitting the shroud? I didn't hear the tick start up until half way through the video......did the fan kick in at that point?
