xpipes tend to lend to the raspiness. Then you pick the mufflers for the tone.

That usually happens if you have straight-thru mufflers behind the X-pipe. I have the Ford Racing X-pipe (stock cats) plus stock GT/CS mufflers (chambered-type) and there's no rasp at all.

It can be done but you need to change the mid-pipe. I had the MRT Interceptor for the GT on my 2013, but I had a completely different exhaust because I had a turbo on it - when I removed the turbo the shop was able to fabricate everything to fit NA with an adapter.
Was that super expensive? Having a shop do the install is looking like it will double the cost...

Maybe raspiness wasn't the correct word. I hear a lot of old Honda Civics with exhausts that just sound loud and obnoxious. I'm looking for something with a deeper growl without being so loud you can hear it a mile away.

It wasn't expensive at the shop I used; they did a lot of other work for me over the years so I have a good relationship with the owner. Can't say what will happen with the shop you use.

When I think of civics I think of trumpeting.
Deeper growl, not too loud, I liked my s-type borla axle backs with the stock H-pipe for that, but that is with a V8, with a v6 you have a different tone since it has all the exhaust pulses evenly spaced, the 2013 already comes with a true dual exhaust. probably just a straight though type and don't oversize the exhaust tips. If you stick with axle-back options, that usually keeps it quiet enough for CA, and you' don't need a CARB EO for axle backs... pretty much anything after the rear O2 sensors is fair game.

Yes I hear a lot of annoying "Ricer" cars with an ugly exhaust set up. My Pypes X pipe with GT Mufflers is not raspy sounding. It will not sound like a V8 unless you stick a V8 motor in there. However it does have a nice sound to it and looks and sounds so much better than the original one exhaust. Never understood why Ford did that. They later heard our cry and started making duels on V6s.
