I had one in a 2000 Avenger ES: Local cop wrote me a ticket, said that only
turn signals are allowed to blink. So, I said, well then you can't use your blinking
lights to chase people...

He also said, I can't have my radar detector in the window, it obstructs view of
the road. So, I pulled my visor all the way down, and said "but this is okay?"
He did not have anything to say, so I left it down too, and drove off with it down...

I beat the ticket though...

Nice story. Did he actually show up for court. The whole I'm above the law and can make **** up is really annoying. When I was in college I lived in a house with two other guys. We had a party and the cops were called b/c of loud music. Before I answered the door we turned down the music and i told everyone not leave the house. My roommates and good friends watched the doors as i spoke to the police. I opened the door and when outside closing the door behind me. There was about 4 officers on my porch. The sarg started cussing me out for no reason. I immediatly told him that was not going to continue on my porch and he needed leave my property. A cop escorted him away and the captain apologized. He then said that if anyone leaves the house drunk. They will be taken in. I said OK. They left and we continued to party

Yeah, he showed up, but I had that Prepaid Lawyer deal, and the lawyer took care of it
at the bench... I didn't even have to speak. Local cops are the worst, and I have
almost no respect for any of them. I have only been able to reason with State
Troopers, the local Law Interpreting Officers, make **** up as they go along, or they're
just plain old stupid. I want to say, they're stupid, so they make law up as they go along.
They surely do not enforce it, but there is a lot of interpreting going on, and half the time,
they're wrong...

Interpreting is something that festers within law enforcement and local government. Its painfully annoying.

Yeah some cops can be an a$$ when it comes to pulling you over. Even some of the state inspection laws are stupid. Back in the '70's I had a 1972 Ford Pinto (yes, a Pinto but it was cool) that had the big back window on the hatch. I had a sticker at the very bottom of that window which could not be seen with the back seats up. The inspector failed it because of it! I told him to sit in the car and see if he could SEE it! He said the law state says no stickers were allowed. I asked him had it been a Pinto with the short window and the sticker was placed in the exact same spot....which would have been on the body panel, would that have been ok? He said yes! What an ***! Sometimes stuff like this is where your brain should come in to play!
