Default GT Steering Wheel on V6?

I sold my 06 V6 to my buddy. I let him drive my 06 GT and he likes the steering wheel better (so do I). I'm pretty sure that the steering wheel would probably be a direct fit, but what about the steering wheel controls? For the most part these cars are relatively close, but wondered if anyone has attempted this? I am not giving up my steering wheel, but if it'll work, we were going to search for a GT steering wheel for his car.

I never heard of a "GT" steering wheel. What is different?

There is no difference from a V6 steering wheel, to a GT one. If you meant,
05-09 V6, to a 11-14 GT, there is. You put those steering wheels on, and
use the audio functions if you have an aftermarket radio that has the two KEY
wires.

But no, the V6 and V8 steering wheels are the same, EXACTLY the same.

Wow, there is a BIG difference to the one on the V6 and the GT. I bought the V6 brand new so I know it is stock, I'll take a pic of mine and post it. I just thought the GT was different.... this car is one mystery after another! Be back with a pic.

This is the steering wheel on the car. It is leather, far thicker on the outer ring (which I like a lot) and it has the silver "furniture" if you will. This is very different from the one that came on the V6 I used to own. I'm guessing that this isn't a stock steering wheel for an 06 GT from the comments....

It's still the exact SAME steering wheel, cosmetics not withstanding. Looks like someone put a silver trim kit on it.

Is the difference one is leather and one isn't? They are different on the outside ring....

The difference may simply be one was a Premium interior the other was a Deluxe (basic) interior. It's just a cosmetic thing. The steering wheels are interchangeable.

My VIN says my V6 a Premium, and mine is plain...

Put the leather wrap, and brushed aluminum trim on, would be the same...

https://www.stangbangers.com/home/20...stang-brochure

Looks like it was an interior upgrade package on both the V6 and GT models. Page 9 of the brochure. Standard black vs brushed aluminum or carbon fiber look.
