Help - USB stopped working after quick acceleration
Here's yet another SYNC USB issue but mine is a little bit different... It came about when I accelerated from 20km/h to 100/km rather quickly. I used to have random "USB removed" messages rather infrequently but it always fixed itself when I unplugged and replugged in the USB device..
I have a 2010 Shelby GT500 by the way. I've tried master resetting, pulling the #3 fuse. Nothing is working.
I used to have a Zune plugged in and it worked great. the changes after that "incident" happened are:
-The Zune will detect it's plugged in and then "charge" but the charge symbol will go away after 3 seconds - Can't even recognise there is something plugged in on the SYNC display
- My phone, which used to charge horrendously slow through the USB port, now gives me a message saying it isn't plugged in properly and a phone case might be getting in the way. Says it is charging but I imagine thats a lie
- Plugged in FAT microsd - "Not Supported"
- Plugged in FAT32 microsd - "Not Supported"
- Plugged in 1TB NTFS external - Just shows light on the external but behaves like the zune, as if I plugged a ghost into that port...
Bluetooth and Line in work but it's almost as if there's a "sweet spot" on the USB which is so minuscule that it's nearly impossible to hit it and make contact... I had so many hassles with my vehicle lately, I'm really hoping someone with electrical experience can aid here... as it seems like accelerating fast is what did it in... Do I have a different bad fuse (#3 was still intact)? Did I short out the USB port? Thank you.
