Default My trunk release button stopped working after 1 day

For no reason, my trunk release button stopped working after 1 day. It worked a few times, then just stopped. Anyone else have this problem? Its something with the trunk itself because I tested both remotes that came with the car and neither worked. Any ideas?

Try resetting the remotes. There are directions in the owners manual.

I've read some issues with the trunk release...

Are you hearing the CLUNK noise at all when you press the button? If so...

1--some fixed it by using WD40 on the latch
2--some fixed it by lubing the rubber seal (which can stick to the truck and stop it from opening)
3--some took it back to dealer for latch adjustment

Maybe you're in catagory 3?? Or maybe worse...

Nope, not hearing the "clunk" meaning that the car isn't recognizing any signal...looks like its going back to the dealer.

All you have to do is reprogram the remotes. That is what the dealer will do and the instructions are in your owners manual. I have had to do it several times when I had the remotes replaced. Its really easy.

reprogram didn't fix the problem. THe emergency release is just dangling there. I think it has something to do with that. I'll take it to the dealer and find out.

Mine started popping for no reason when I was driving her. [:@] Was really frustrating and then the remote stopped releasing but it stopped popping when I was driving so I am happy to use the key now. Thought about taking her in but all in all I really don't care. Especially since I know when it is working it pops for no reason and the last thing I want is for that to start again. Its a Mustang... its not supposed to do all that fancy stuff anyways All I want to do is drive screw getting groceries!
