What do you guys think???
A Ford dealer in Tucson, Az charges me 5K for the Saleen Super Charger and 3k for the installation. They said they already have done 7 GT and assure me that if they install it, the SC will not void my warranty. I was seriously considering installing one on my GT by February, but when they told me 3k for the installation… I think that’s a little too high, what do you guys think? Is that too much for the installation? I know there are several of you guys running with the Saleen SC, how much did you pay for the installation and where did you got it installed?
Any feedback is appreciated!

I'm not familiar with what all that Saleen kit requires, but based on other cars with other s/c installations that seems quite high to me. I'd recommend looking around at some local speed shops and getting quotes from them.

GJP is right even at 10 hours, at 100 hr labor rate thats $1000- call Saleen and see what time for a install they give you...i think there trying to take advantage... good luck

I also think that 3k for installation is way too much. I will definitely look for another dealer. Thanks for your input guys. By the way, do you think that putting a s/c on my near stock GT is a good idea or do you recommend to start with bolt ons and work my way up. From my point of view, if I just put a s/c on I will have nearly 400hp and avoid the hassle of ordering minor mods and wasting valuable time (thing that I don’t have) at shops. Anyways, just a thought.

HELL NO don't wait....if I could have gotten a supercharger when i had enough money i definitly would have. Well you don't have to put it on right away of course......you could put it on in a few months if you want.

You need to find out what you get for the $3k. I saw where one guy spent $3800 just for tuning on his S/C(on top of the install), which resulted in almost 100 extra hp over the S/C alone. I think he said his car was on the dyno for 5-7 days. The end result was 570+hp at the rear wheels....just a thought.

RE: What do you guys think???
There is no way to get 570rwhp with any base kit S/C and a tune that is over 119% gain. 570 at the fly is more believable. Not to mention that his bottom end won't hold up. The stock fuel pump will run out of fuel around 460rwhp, the bottom end will go around 450-500rwhp, the drive shaft is in the same range, brakes will need to be upgraded, not to mention the clutch. Install of the Saleen should be less then $1000, dyno tune should be around $300, and the base kit should be less then $5000.
