Has anyone tried installing the '70 style spin hood locks? I have seen a picture with them installed but would like to learn more.

i was just on ebay trying to find some of those. the '70 model looks shorter than the 71-up style. the whole kit was around $140 for the '70 and over $200 for the 71-up style. i'm going to do some measuring to see which one will work. i'll post the install if i can make them work. what i'd really like to have is some sort of flush mount latch with a push button locking mechanism. any body with aviation experience know of something like this exists?? similar to the cabinet door latches in an RV. push the center it unlatches and the button pops up, close the door and push the button again and it latches.

yeah it's the gtr from rk sport. i got it on ebay for $219!!! it was cheaper then the non-functional cdc scoop! i found something you may like.aerolatch.comi just ordered some today from coastfab.com they are $86 for a set and about 95 for the locking model. coast fabrications is the only dealer in the U.S. right now. it's almost exactly what i was looking for. i just wanted round but they are too cool to pass up.[8D]
