What’s great about it, is they look like factory, used a gloss black that left them smooth. I noticed when pulling out the drivers side one, the dash wanted to come with it as well, so to answer you second question, doesn’t see that it will be too difficult. Keep us posted on your progress and pics.

Kinda on and off the subject here, regardless its about the dashboard vents ..Anyone notice a little warm air coming up through them?..With the heater off, I just happen to notice that the inside of the vent is extremely warm as if the heater was on ..Odd...

well generally that will happen with most cars... its just the hot air from the engine seeping through.

Saleen does this as part of their interior package - not sure I like it. It LOOKS good, but over time the bottom lips of the fins get scratched, and you can see the silver showing through. This happens because its such a tight fit when totally closed. So my advice would be to NEVER shut them all the way - or be prepaired to touch them up.

I'm thinking of pulling mine out to touch them up - and fabricating some sort of "stop" mechanism on the back to keep them from closing all the way.

Very nice Saleen! I've also owned a Capri, an 85 LX 5.0 Coupe, '85 Canyon Red GT, '88 LX Coupe, '97 GT and now an '05 Black on Black (I swore I'd never own black...I digress) and I'll probably keep this one as stock as possible. It won't see anything but spring thru fall, no rain or snow allowed.

Good luck with yours!

How did you paint the vents? I am not a seasoned painter, but want to do this

Touch 'em up with a black sharpie. It will cover the exposed silver.

I'll give that a try and see how it turns out. If it doesn't work well, I can still repain them if need be. I do love the sharpie as a universal tool - just about as much as duct tape [8D]
