Tranny Vibration on 06' GT automatic
I have a practically new 06' GT coupe with an auto tranny, that i notice a vibration or shudder from the rear to the center of the vehicle under medium to hard acceleration in first gear between 1500 and 2000 rpm's. Does anyone know what has been causing this? I know of a few other cases of complaints. I will be honest, and this is my first american "muscle car" so im not sure if it is just something i need to get used to, or if it is a potentially problem that needs correction to keep from both pissing me off AND causing problems later on. Any help is greatly appreciated. And i will have pics up soon! Thanks guys!

UPDATE!!!! So i took my car in to the dealer today and they found the vibration, and it was the solution that someone else had posted earlier. I just wanted to confirm. The U-Joint in the tranny is at an angle that causes vibration, and is an easy fix. It will be done in 48 hours, (including part shipping time). Ford is aware of the problem and encourages anyone feeling it to bring it in for the replacement. It is only known to be of issue on automatics, and GT models. Hope this helps. Otherwise i got a problem free vehicle so far. Thanks for your input everyone.

BlackGTCoupe,
Can you tell us the name/location of the dealer fixing your car and what, exactly, was done to fix the problem. Also, if Ford knows about the problem, there must be some kind of documentation about it...something concrete one can show to their dealer. My dealer doesn't know what's causing it, and won't do anything further without direction from Ford. I was just on the phone with Ford Customer Service and they told me there is no TSB or anything regarding this problem, yet your dealer is saying Ford knows about the problem. TIA

The dealership i took it to is Tuttle Click Ford in Irvine California. My service advisor is a very helpful gentleman named dan and he was the one who worked with thier transmission specialist and Ford to find a solution. Apparently it is not enough of a wide spread problem yet that anything offically has been posted, but the person they spoke to at ford about it was aware of several isolated cases of it, and that solution they found has worked. Call the dealer, speak to dan and im sure he can give you any necessary info for your local service advisor to get the part on order. Let me know if i can help further.

never had any vibration issues but i can't seem to get the new gears to stop making noise. here's a fix for the d/shaft problem... stick one of these in it and lose the vibration and free up 20rwhp, lose almost 30lbs. with absolutely no reflash needed!!! only weighs 17lbs and is less then $400!!!
