Default Steeda Tri-Ax/ B&M Precision Sport

I'm looking to replace the factory shifter with a unit with a shorter throw and stopbolts.
I really am looking at the steeda unit but would cosider B&M also. I am if anyone has any input on these or any other shifters for the 05-06 GT. Also, how difficult is the install. I am pretty handy under the hood of a car, but have never changed the shifter on a manual before. I have done it with an auto, but doing a manual looks a little more complicated. What's involved? Is this somethign that the average, but fairly car savy, guy can accomplish in a driveway, or should I take it to a shop?

Any other input toward shifters is appreciated.
