Like all the others are saying, just be really careful. I'm 16 with my first car as a Manual Mustang , and it's got a lot more power than your Focus. For summer driving, just don't floor it at every light and be a show off, that's annoying as heck to people, it's a great car, you can show it off in other ways besides a large ticket on your record. For Winter.. it's RWD so, a new expierence for me at least. Also on the manual transmission, it's will take practice to get smooth shifts, it definetly isn't the easiest transmission to start with but it's definetly an amazing car. I'd say go for it!

Bullsh*t you can drive the sh*t out of it. At first try to get use to the extra horsepower but in time you will be crying for it to be faster. Because of your faster reflexes you more than likely beat most people twice your age like my old crusty *** but for God sakes be careful when you drive like Steve McQueen.

is driving a mustang gt manual as ur first car is not a good idea? because some mustang owners told me that no way i can handle it because ur 18 and its ur first car.

just want ur opinion.

I can't advise on this one...

I had just turned 18 when I got my 69 Torino Cobra GT.

Never wrecked it... but definately tore up some engines, transmissions, rear-ends and tires.

Actually, I think it's responsible of him to post asking opinions if he could handle it or not. Most 18 yr olds would just do it and not care what anyone had to say. My first car was a Pontiac Fiero and I drove it like I stole it....until it caught fire. Next car was a Mustang II (Pinto wannabe), and I melted 4 of the 6 pistons. Next was a Firebrid that got stolen, then I graduated to a '91GT. All this by the time I was 19. I had the '91 GT until I sold it in '99.

Go for it, bud. Have fun...but be careful, the '05/'06GT's can get away from you easily.
