Had my 05 GT for 6 months with the shaker 500- not a single issue. Loved it. Sold the car & bought an 06 with the shaker 1000- have had it for a week- nothing yet, working lovely. If it doesnt have any issues, Id keep it over an aftermarket any day. Sounds great, looks good ect ect,...
Its the monority that are having issues & its not all but mostly in the 05's manufactured before last March. I know there are others with some issues but the bulk was within that time frame.

I see so many posts about problems with the shaker 500, but I cant find a TSB on this. Is this really a widespread and well known problem, and if so will Ford replace defective units, or all they all bad? I called my dealer and he claims that he has had no complaints or problems with the shaker 500, but on this board it looks like its just a fact that they suck. What does Ford say when you take the car in to have the problems fixed? Do they just install a brand new cd player? Do they blame it on your cd's?

I am as well...
My Shaker 500 had performed flawlessly. Have not had one Audio CD skip.. neither copies nor store bought.
My MP3 CDs have all played with no problems. and I've done several from different computers without an issue.
If I had any wish, I wish it would switch CD's faster.. but it is still WAY better then loading the 6 CD's into the trunk.

I'm with Scott and PW on this. I've yet to have a problem with my stereo. Something to note is that I always make sure my burned CDs are not multisession. I'm not sure if that's helped or not, but it certainly doesn't hurt.

Why order a 2006 stang gt this late???
You might not see the car till late May.Or maybe not see the car at all.Then you will have to reorder it as a 2007 in May or june but you might still not see the car because there will be manyyyy people ahead of you that ordered a gt in march when they are taking the 2007 orders.And you still might not see the car till sometime in 2007 depends if you order at a very large dealer.........
If you wait and order a 2007 stang gt in early March you might see the car in July or aug depends on the dealer..JT

Ive gotta shaker 500 in mine. No problems with mine. The system has good bass, but Im not too crazy about the rest of it. The CD player is slooooooooooooooooooow to change disks and songs.

Most dealers will tell yea that it takes 8 - 12 weeks,,,,,,Don't beleave them.I would still be waiting since June when i ordered mine.But I got tired of waiting and knew the dealer way lying.But Loook around like me on fords lots and you might get lucky as i did with invoice....But really i would wait at this point till march so i would order a 2007 Gt....JT
