Optional stock 18's?

I have to tell the dealer by monday if i want to go with the bullit-looking optional polished 18's. He said there is a long wait for that rim.
My question is, how is this combo of the 18's and the 235/50/18 tires? Is it worth the 800 dollar upgrade? Or shoould i just order the 17's and get aftermarket tires and wheels?

i say go aftermarket..........especially because you can get the bullitt rim in a "wider" size fir probably cheaper somewhere else than the dealer.

but if i go 18's from the dealer its only 800 more, If i go aftermarket i have to buy rims and tires,

I just can't make up my mind between black with a chrome lip 18's or jus chrome 18's from the dealer, i love both!

I would wait for the rims you want, because you get more than rims- struts and shocks are differnat for the 18 inch upgrade as well, so if you go 17, then buy different rims and tires, you won't have as good of a handling car. Another route would be to go with a custom wheel/tire package that really fills the wheelwells to the max, then go the Ford racing suspnsion upgrade route. That would give you a well matched package that will also lower the ride hieght about 1 1/2 inchs.

I asked two dealers and they both said the suspension is same with GTs with 17's and GTs with 18's equiped.

I was going to get the same rims but I really think that 18" rims really need to be able to accomodate a wider tire.

I bought my '06 about 3 or 4 weeks ago and I just took the factory bullitts because I figures I will just buy aftermarket in the spring.

I have the 18 inch fan balde stock wheels and they rock on a black car. They have a real good feel with the BFGoodridge tires.

When you order the 18's from Ford you get modifications to the suspension settings directly from the factory, I wanted the 18" Bullits as well but didn't want the wait. I like the 18's that I settled on.
