My check engine light went on. I disconnected the batery during install. The MAF sensor is connected and facing the correct way. I can't figure it out

It is because you have a lean condition now and your PCM has not compensated for the increased air flow. It can/should be fixed with a tune reguardless of what you were told by the manufacturer of the CAI.

try putting back the stock one, if the light is still on you probably broke your MAF

well i have the afe stage 2 on my 05 gt and it never gave me a light, ans i felt the increase in power right away. infact i did not make it 2 the tuner till about 2 weeks after instaliing it, and never got a light. i still gained about 15 hp, i got a hell of a lot more after the tune so you should go asap. but i think you getting one because all you have is the filter not a whole tb replacement tube.
