Default Venturies - Borla says they are out there - what are they???

Hey About to throw my Borla exhaust out the window, looking on their website in their warrenty statement is the following:

Because sound is subjective, please do not return your system or muffler if you do not like the sound level. There are several ways to adjust the sound level. You can obtain venturies, for example, from your retailer that you can place in your system to quiet your system.

What are these venturies they speak of?

Venturies are adjustable air valves, that basically open or close depending on how much you turn them. I've never seen them on mufflers so not sure where you can get them [&:] Venturies are the valves that you see on hot tubs, that when you open them up - you get mucho bubbles - when you close them, you get very little water flow.

I can only assume they are speaking of a similar concept. But this seems like a RESTRICTIVE solution to me [&:]

Yes it is restrictive. Ive never seen a silencer on any mustang exhaust...this is something ive only seen on import cars...If you want to keep it quiet id just keep the stock system on.

Just curious after reading that.
.......I have some sound barrier material on order. Not dynamat, but a foam material to try to block out the drone....
Would remove the Borla all together but I saw nice gas milage gains and the sound when not drone is wonderful.
Thanks

Tanabe (http://www.autocarparts.com/part/list/347/) and Apexi (http://www.autocarparts.com/part/list/16/) make exhaust silencers. To me, they look restrictive, but the manafacturers claim that they can reduce the sound output wihout sacrificing high end power and in some cases increasing mid-range torque.

Why did I buy them? Same reason everyone else bought them and hate the drone.
Wanted the deeper sound, etc.
Other than the limited range in which they drone, they sound fantastic!!!!!!!! but the drone.....
Thanks

I will let everyone know how the sound absorber works.

I personally like the drone [8D] When I was a teen my parents had a 77 Trans Am show car with the big bock 6.6L and basically flowmaster type mufflers and no cats. That thing was loud as hell - and when at idle or final gear cruising - forget about having the radio on or carrying on a coversation

To me - that is part of being a muscle car I say leave it alone and drone away! I am getting my off road H pipe today and can't wait to hear the result

I think something happened to either me or my exhaust. I got in and started it the other night and could barely hear it! I was like wtf why can i barely hear it... it was like that the whole way home.
This morning it did the usual cold start roar. But now sometimes I can barely hear it.....I think i may have wax buildup in my ears or something.
