2005 stang info, please help
watup guys, I am looking to trade my gto for an 05 stang. I decided I want a convertible but am short in cash right now. So I wanted to ask, what are the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for a stock GT convt and a stock V6 convt.
If I do not have enough money to buy a GT, how easy are the V6's to mod, are there alot of aftermarket products? How hard is it to break GT times, thanks alot.

There is a good aftermarket, and the 3v motor is very responsive to mods. A simple tuner and CAI can pump it up close to 300rwhp. As for the v6 breaking GT times...i dunno...there are a few people here with the sixes and they have the ZEX kit and are putting down pretty nice numbers, you can talk to one of them about that.

the 0-60 on the gt is mid to low 5's and on the v6 it is 6.5 (or something, there are no really accurate counts out there for the v6 like the gt)
getting a v6 to surpass the gt would take some type of forced induction, and guys with nitrous are doing it too (scrming in the v6 section has a bunch of recent post's talking about his nitrous)
the gt and v6 engine both take mods pretty well, you can add a pretty decent amout of power with just small things like tunes, intakes, exhausts, etc
imo, if you are used to the gto speeds you are probably going to want the GT

Does anybody know how the GTO and Mustang GT compare when stock on 1/4 mile times. The GTO is faster isn't it?

But the 'Stang didn't die for 20 years either

agreed... dont get the 6, you will be thouroughly disappointed. A GT can keep up with a GTO if the driver is very good. As far as having the same driver in both cars goes, the GTO is faster
