Thanks for your opinions everyone.

I'm deciding on wether I should get a manual GT or a automatic v6.

Because the manual GTs are less expensive than the automatic GTs
You should have no problem with a stick. I would definately recommend practicing before hitting traffic. If your decision is between a manual GT or automatic V6 then i am begging you to get the manual gt. Otherwise i gurantee you will eventually regret the decision. the GT and V6 don't even compare in the amount of fun you can have.

Stangs were made to be automatics. It's the quasi-sportscar.

If you want a sportscar, and not something that makes 50-somethings feel young again, buy an S2000. That is a sportscar Bro.

Is it just me or is everyone else getting sick of this guys anti mustang posts. I have no problem with people not liking mustangs, but this is a mustang forum. Go somewhere else for that crap. It's kinda like a girl joining the boy scouts just to make fun of them for being boy scouts. It makes no sense unless deep down inside you really want a mustang but are scared to admit it.

your going to learn stick on a 300hp new mustang.. hehehe... if you can get past the fist 3 months you should be ok.. not the best starter car
My first car was a '05 GT Manual. i've only had a little experience with manuals before i bought my car, and let me tell you, it was easy as hell to learn on... lol.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I have also heard that manuals get better gas mileage if driven correctly. Is this true?

you can save more gas with a stick. If you get to a 3rd world country like china or vietnam you will see nothing but sicks(and sheet load of mopeds) you will see all the drivers shift like at 1-2K ahaha.. their 0-60 times are like 5 minutes..ahah.. anyhow.. its all how you shift.. I know my shifting at 6K dont help =-/

Sportscars should only be made in manuals.

If nothing else, because a sportscar deserves to be driven.

Yeah Wadatai my dad used to work for the Honda plant, which is in Marysville by the way, not Dayton. But it's still a Japanese company, so calling the car such is valid. And as for learning in a stang, you might as well. I learned in a 3.0 Z4, and I'll tell you what, that was the scariest/most fun thing I did for quite some time. I think I ended up accidentaly red lineing it through 3rd gear for a day or so, drove the neighbors nuts, and scared the crap out of my parents when the saw me.
