what do 4.10's do???
 

hey guys im just curious what exactly do 4.10's do, i have an 06 v6 manual, what would they help??

They will help you accellerate much faster, they will not add any HP though.

Also, when you shift while racing, your RPMS will land in your powerband much better than your stock gears.

just to add, some people get the idea that these add power, but in reality, it just gets you to your power quicker

well i'd say if you have a manual, stick with 3.73's... generally people with auto's put 4.10's on. Or so i'm told... i dont know what difference it woudl make havin 4.10's on your manual

I was told that changing gears would lower you top end? Is that right?

i think it would lower your top speed, not your top end

it depends on your car my car has the .67 5th gear and doing 4.10's would actually increase my top speed.

who cares about top speed, i myself would rather have that power off the line. That's where the adrenalin kicks in for me.[sm=gears.gif]

To me the 4:10 gears were probably one of the best Mods. I have done yet. :D
