2006 Shelby/Saleen/Roush
Hey all,
I'm looking to buy a 2006 Mustang in the spring, so I figured I'd educate myself some. I'm looking for opinions on whether I should go with the Shelby, the Saleen, or the Roush? What are the key differences (price/performance/etc)? Does getting it in convertible make a difference? What do the different stages mean? What other factors should I consider?

personally i would go for the shelby because the pure fact that i rather naturally aspirated power over forced induction, but that is just me...
(i am aware that the shalby has a s/c but i am guessing that there is less power comming from it because the engine is bigger)
but
however, for looks, i would go with the saleen

Well good luck getting a Shelby, but for availability and performance go Saleen.
As far as the Roush, unless your a collector, $10000 for 25 horse and his name? I think not!

This is kind of a pointless post - there is no such thing as a 2006 Shelby - its due out in late '06, as an '07 model . Good luck getting your hands on one
Chris - although you halfway corrected yourself, your first answer about normally aspirated but knowing the Shelby will be sc makes no sense. The Shelby WILL be boosted, no matter what the base engine power is - so it goes against your personal NA taste
I think if you want an SC car - then go either Saleen SC or wait & TRY to get your hands on a Shelby. If you want NA power and are more of a collector type person, then either Saleen 3 Valve or the Roush Stage 2 would fit well.
If you are looking to mod the hell out of a car, AND are concerned with resale/collectors value - then stay away from all 3 - start with a base GT. They are VERY moddable at a decent base price.

I'd say Saleen. They're beasts and they're rare to see driving about.
The Roush is an overpriced body kit and CAI.
The Shelby is dissapointing. Assuming that the S/C makes average S/C gains that leaves the 5.4 block (in N/A form) making only 325-ish HPO for a giant weight gain. No thank you, sir.
