Default What's Next For Mustang Design?

What direction do you guys think the Ford designers should go with the next Mustang? Personally, I think it would be a mistake to try to pull from another old design. They knocked it right out of the park with this design. They got back on track with what the Mustang should look like. The next Mustang should simply grow from this design and keep the overall theme intact.

What do you think?

In my view Ford builds crappy IRS rear ends, there is always a vibration problem with too many.

But think about it, they did build from the original design and it evolved into the fox bodies. I hope they stay with the features of the 05' but I am sure the evolution will be close to what has allready happened. In 40 years they will do a retro design that throws back to the 2005.

By stick with the current theme, I mean like Porsche. If you debadged a 911 from the first one up to the latest one and put them in front of someone who'd never seen a Porsche before, they'd still say it was a progression of the same car. It's not like that with the Mustang. There were some way off years in there. Not that they were bad looking, because they weren't, they just didn't look a thing like the original.

If you debadged a first gen Mustang and the current gen one and put it to the same test, the person would still say it was a progression of the same car. HOWEVER, if you did the same for a first gen THRU the current gen, the person would probably think they were looking at 4 or 5 different types of cars!

I picked build off of this theme, because that follows the mustang tradition. this new style isn't a landmark anymore than '94s or whatever year they went to the more streamlined body. I predict they will build off this style for a good 4-5 years to come (at least), and then redesign it a bit. That seems more like the mustang tradition to me.
