Ever wish your Stang was more tech savvy?

RE: Ever wish your Stang was more tech savvy?
I am buying a Mustang in a week or two but only after test driving just about avery luxury "performance" car first.
The Acura electronics are no doubt the best I saw. It's pretty amazing how seemlessly all of it works. I was never into that stuff until I actually got the demo.
As for getting the Mustang...I spend a lot of time driving and working from my car so a Nav system and hands free phone are just a reality that I have to accept.
Given the combined price of the factory nav and phone system I think I can get more functionality from aftermarket sources.

Check out a new Mercedes! Makes Acura look like, well, like a Mustang!
Not the C Class, as they used too much plastic, but the higher end Mercedes were such a blast to sit in and adjust all the different stuff. They have a thing on the door that lets you electrically adjust all the seat settings, even the headrest.
Of course all those gadgets really add weight, which is why they put powerful engines in them. If I had the means I would have to get the AMG SL65.

IMO, Not big on the gadgetry...
1) Bluetooth, etc. - It's a car, not a phone booth
2) Nav - If you haven't figured out where you're going, you shouldn't be driving there..
Don't get me wrong, I understand that some have legitimate needs for Bluetooth and nav systems, just not for me, and I think 99% of the people out there have too many things distracting them already.

I deal with technology all day. I wanted a car that reflected something more primal. I like the basic nature of the Mustang. There is something pure about it.. especially the live rear end.

My family has owned a lot of high end imports (Audis, BMWs, etc) and the ride was relaxing and enjoyable. For a daily driver lots of gadgets are great.
I usually end up offending someone but I have the feeling here people are being closed minded for the sake of acting simplistic. I'm all for valuing simplicity. My personal daily driver, smooth riding, luxury car (haha) is an 11 year old Ford Expedition (yep early production, OCT 96!)
Realize though its nice to have the option to have a quality car loaded with luxury extras.
I'll say historically Mustangs are the wrong car to have high end luxury options. Yet Ford is in a tight spot. Buyers used to having luxury options are considering Mustangs (probably the only Ford many people will every consider as of recent.) So Mustangs at present need to fill a dual role, and personally I don't think a loaded premium cuts it.
My car has heated seats but unlighted vanity mirrors. For most people thats a giant WTF situation. Personally I only drive my 'stang in the summer months so I don't care. All I wanted was a white 5spd GT and that was what was available.
Years ago this problem was non-existent with the availabilty of Cougars. Now we get into a discussion of how FoMoCo needs to unf*ck itself, I'll leave that to Mullally.
