What's the opinion on splash guards

RE: What's the opinion on splash guards
There aren't any flaps out there that look decent. I solved that
with the clear material used for the clear bra, I used it to protect
the areas behind the rear wheels and the painted area on the
rocker panel behind the front wheels. It's great, no chips and
so, so very easy to clean the tar and junk off of. I dont live
where I have to deal with the real nasty snow and mud and slush.
But I stay very clean and dont have those UGLY flaps.. see

I AM going to get some clear protector on the paint, but, I'm going to put just behind the front rocker cover lip, as it rubs corner of fender, and I do believe within a couple years the paint will rub thru from dirt getting in the gap. probably will clear protect the front fender edge under the rocker cover, AND silicone seal to the clear film to help keep dirt from getting between. I put a thread in here called 'might want to look under your car' with a lot of pics of hidden areas that concerned me. only signs of rocker drains getting dirt/water up inside are front two just behind front tires...I think I'm going to get some 65 galaxy trunk drains and just 'glue' them in with silicone- they have little scoops to keep splash from front getting up inside...I tend to keep cars for decades, and this one is my all time favorite...cant stand parking 25% of the time, so I'm doing what I can to make it last as long as possible while still being able to enjoy it a little.
