RE: Racing stripes cost
ORIGINAL: The Ghost
I did mine to 1966 Shelby specs. 10" stripes with a 2" gap. Same as on my 65'. I have Vinyl. I will have painted in Feb.

Mine total 24"
Yours total 22"
From your avatar your stripes look just about the same size as mine.

Gloves, agreed. Yes, that comes to an inch on each side, and i can see that yours are a little farther over the fog lights. But, my color choice is very forgiving to the eye, compared to a deeper contrast. And I also feel that 8" stripes are not enough. I really like the single 26" that mimics the 69' Boss. I would love to see someone go ***** out and do a real Boss flat black stripe on the 05'. If done right I think it would be a showstopper. I think this would be the $hit on a legend green GT.

i am going with 15 in. stripes on mine i like the big a$$ stripes. I mean if i am going to do it i am going all out. You can get the stripes painted for 500$ if you don't get them clearcoated. If there not cleared i think they look like a$$ and you can feel the edges. If it were mine i would definately go the extra mile and clear coat them just my opinion though do what ever suits you.

Clear coat doesn't mean you cannot feel the edge... when they paint the stripes, if they sand and blend them in then you cannot feel the edge... the clear coat has nothing to do with it... Mine are painted and clear coated, and you can feel the edge a little... and I had a quote for $900 to blend with no edge and $500 to paint and clearcoat... I happen to like the 'edge', to me it makes the stripes better. To each his own If you have vinyl, then you feel a harder edge, but again, considering cost, if you could get a tuner and vinyl, or painted only (blended) I would go with the vinyl/tuner and get more for the buck he he
I also like the big stripes... but thought on my car the smaller looked better of course it helped that Gloves had his stripes done the exact way I wanted mine, so I could see ahead of time

I would vote for 10-2-10 like ghost, then you pretty much stay within the fog lamps. )looks really nice) I prefer paint, clearcoated, no edge; that's top shelf; shop around for a reputable shop that does this routinely. It will be a few $$ more but compared to the cost of the vehicle and the cost of other mods why cheap out on the one thing that transforms the look of the car more than anything? JMO

unless you'v already had them go for vynil and drive with them for a while to see if you like them or get sick of them... if you really like them: get them replaced with painted ones when the vynil wears out.
vynil is also good for testing mulitple colors!
