Racing stripes cost

RE: Racing stripes cost
Mine were $512 out the door... check around, I have heard from $500-1500 depending on who is doing it... and for the vinyl kits they are around $150-500 again depending on the kit
Mine was done at the dealer body shop. I would call around and see who has a decent price and then check out the shop. my quotes ranged from $500, $950, 1400, and I liked the Team Ford shop and manager, he works the extra mile to take care of you, and there are several others here who have dealt with them and say the same thing... hopfully someone from IL will post with a local shop
If you want to see a difference (you can't really)... look at the 'mirror image mustangs' post... my stripes are painted on (Silver/blue) and his are vinyl (Blue/white) (he and his dad did himself)

I paid about $600 for mine and they are vinyl. They are 12" wide with a 2" gap. I've heard that you'll typically pay about $1000+ for painted stripes that go from bumper to bumper, but some have gotten theirs for less.

I've got vinyl on mine. I did it myself for about $100 worth of material. It was my first run at it but it turned out good. If you have the money, go with paint..just looks better. if you're poor like me, go with vinyl and do it yourself. Good thing about vinyl is it's easy to remove if you don't like it or get sick of it. Bad thing is the marks left by road debris.

do you think that i should just spend the money and do it right painted ?

The only problem is... how wide do you want your stripes?
Mine are 11 1/8" x 1 3/4 x 11 1/8"
I was limited by the hood scoop, I couldn't go any bigger. I wanted 12 x 1 3/4 x 12.
People say, Shelby stripes are 10 x 2 x 10 or something like that. Well, those looked
nice on the old smaller mustangs. I think they look too small on the new Mustangs.

I did mine to 1966 Shelby specs. 10" stripes with a 2" gap. Same as on my 65'. I have Vinyl. I will have painted in Feb.
