Header installation
 

Has anyone here installed there own set of shortie headers? THe passanger side doesn't look too bad, but the other side seems cramped. Anyone with actual experience doing this job?

NObody has installed thier own headers. Wow. Kind of suprising. Anyone with thoughts on the subect?

There are a few memebers who have done this. You just need to search the forums to find the correct threads.

I installed the JBA shorty headers and it took all day. The left side is easier and is installed from under the car, the right side in installed from the hood down. If your doing the job yourself, make sure you TORQUE the motor mounts. You will likely have to remove the right motor mount and starter (disconnect battery). This job is a real pain in the a$$, and I wouldn't want to take on a job like that again. I would rather pay to have them installed, but good luck if you do it. I can't stress to to torque the bolts in, I didn't and I had to take my car to the dealer to torque the bolts and have the motor reposition on the sub frame and that cost me $500. Long story short my saleen S/C was hitting the fire wall. Some bolts will be hard to get to after you install the header. WD40 the stock bolts, losen the nut first then remove the studs, if you don't and break a stud and can't get it out you screwed (I was lucky) LOL. Last note, make sure you have a lot of tools.
