The sticker price is supposed to be just under $40k base price. With the markup though it will be at least $60k for the first couple of years.

At $40k I would spend the extra few bucks and go with the Vette anyday. (It's a much nicer car in everyway)
Ford might want to price it accordingly. After all it is but a Mustang. I like mine real well but honestly it doesn't compare to the Vette.

My brother in law is a fleet manager at a California dealership that is slated to get 2 GT500s. He is going to get one and the other will go for probably "double sticker". The same thing happened when they got their allocation of 2 Ford GTs. The owner of the dealership got one and the other sold for over $300k. If you think you're going to get a GT500 for sticker or close to sticker, you're dellusional. Unless you're an owner or manager of a dealership. [

Wheels, supercharger, rear-end...voila! GT500 wannabe for about 10k.

If you really wanted a 500hp dustbuster, then yes, you could get a z06 easier and pay less than what the Shelby will be selling for. The difference is that this is the first mustang with Shelby's name on it in 30+ years. It's an instant collector's item.

It will be under 50 forsure, they know they can get prolly 100 but they wants a cheap car that people can afford, they dont want it to be like a viper were 2 people per state have them lol, its just what a read in a mustang article, there going to be very reasonalbly priced

As much as I like vettes, Id take the GT500. I was reading that the 475 horsepower rating could go up before the car goes into production..it'll be interesting to see what the prices are gonna be when its released.

You also need to trade in your mustang. A vette doesn't have any looks like the mustang; maybe back in 67 or 68 but heck I figure if you buy a ford you shouldn't even think chevy. Only time I would drive a chevy if someone made me drive a import of any kind or riceburner. You people really surprise me.
