XM radio

My wife and I are looking at buying a XM Radio unit (Delphi), but wonder about the instalation-

Anyone have one of these units mounted in your 05-06? Where did you mount it? Does it use a clamp, bolts, 3M...? Any other problems?

Thanks!

There are some posts out there. I posted one with pics using velcro. You can find it on about the 5th or 6th page of this forum or search for 'Sirrius'. I used a lot of pictures so its in 3 parts.

Good luck!

First of all, congrats on your new baby. I am sure you will get many years of pleasure out of it and a smile that won't leave your face for a minute.

I have the XM Roady installed in my GT's. Mine uses a mounting bracket attached with 3M. It is placed between the 2 middle vents on the dash. I am using an inline FM modulator and it works really good. I tried the wireless FM modulator but the sound was like listening to a cheap AM radio. There is an adapter from PIE that you can buy that goes into the AUX port on the back of the radio if you have the Shaker radio and it really sounds good from what I have read.

Thanks for the help guys!

We are new to the forum, however, we have had the car since Dec 05; and your right- the smile hasn't left my face! I'll try posting a photo of her tomorrow~

Thanks again!

I mounted my Roady2 on the center console right side panel (the panel the passenger's left knee touches) using velcro, I made a small notch on the radio side of the side panel for the wires to come through and mounted the FM modulator behind the ac panel and the airbag module on the same metal plate using velcro again.(thats is what sits behind the AC panel)
