Are there any external changes? And any do any of you think it's likely the 07 will have any sort of engine upgrade (10-20 horse bonus that happened from the mid 90's to the late 90's, etc.)?
i haven't heard of any plans for a hp boost. in the past, they have kept the models basically the same over a period of 4-5 years or so. from 1994-1998 you basically had the same mustang with only minor changes - and i believe they only added 5hp between the 94 and 98 v-6s and about 10 hp on the GT.

in 1999 they changed the body style and added 40-45hp on the v6 and v8 but didnt' add any hp to that model until they changed the body style again, to the 2005+ stang - which boasts another approx 40hp boost from the previous model.

i guess it'd be nice if they added some hp, but i don't expect that they will. hope that helps.

Thank you BlackB-U-TEE_06 and everyone else. I think I will be holding out to 07 (if i can take it that long! [&:]) just in case there is a little bit of change just to be 'fresh'. I guess while another 5-10 hp gain would be nice... having 300 will pry be more than enough for me!

how pissed will you be when 07 rolls around and it's still a 300hp beast (instead of 305 or 310)? you will have waited months and months....i say get your GT now. if you really want that extra 10-15 hp, drop in a cold air kit and get yourself a tuner. i'd rather spend a few hundred bucks on some upgrades and have my stang NOW, instead of several months from now.

just the way i feel about my stang though

Haha, yah i completely agree with you on that. If that was the only concern Id go to the dealer at the end of the day today and put my request into their computer to bring my dream-pony home to my corral! I may wait just because I'm currently in college and i SUPPOSE it'd be better to have a little higher money stock-pile together when i go make my investment

Any idea when the 07's should become available? Should I expect october or november... or what?

They switched from 5.0 to 4.6 Mod motor between 04 and 08, thats a pretty significant change in my book even if HP wasn't that much different.

Looking at the car market the Mustang is one of the models that are selling without incentives of any kind. Given that information I find it highly unlikely that there will be much (if any) change for '07 models. It just doesn't make economic sense to change something (even if it's added HP) to a model that is selling.

MikeHawke, im pretty sure he means 94 and 98 (and i agree, but i dont see ford changing the size of the engine in these stangs for a long time)... I'm just hoping ford wouldn't go back to the verticle tail lights like 94/95 had... lol. Nothing against 94/95 owners, those lights are just my least-favorite features of those years.

But yah... when should a guy expect the new line out? I guess i dont remember for sure besides its the middle of the last quarter... or is that as specific as a guy can be?

Performancewise, the 05's have 3:31's in the rearend, while the 06's have 3:55's if its a 5speed, and still have 3:31's if its an auto....
