Default FORD MUSTANG ACCESSORIES

So, reading through the 2006 dealer literature i noticed there is an accessories catalog available from the dealer, so i picked one up and was amazed at what it had to offer for these cars. Auto dimming mirror, bluetooth, several rim options etc... I was wondering if anyone has had any of these accessories installed in their stang. Any problems? Were they costly? Level of difficulty for the very mechanically inclined? Thanks

I'm getting the mirror option with Homelink. Pricey at $400+ with instal. I just don't like the ugly garage door opener dangling from the visor. It also has compass and outside temp feature. You might also check Ford Racing's web site for performance mods that are licensed by Ford and also installed by Ford, including tuners, cold air induction wheels etc. I just got an issue of 'My Ford' magazine and in the 'Tip Sheet' section is info on Ford sanctioned options from fordracingparts.com.

I ordered the chrome exhaust tip because I had a coupon and then I ordered the set of Pony chrome ring caps. Still waiting for both though because I ordered them on Friday. The chrome exhaust tip was like $50 ($30 w/ my coupon) and the ring caps were pretty cheap - about $70 all in.

If you want to see the prices (which the book doesn't have have), here's a good place to go:

Yeah, i'm really interested in the homelink mirror, but all i want is the compass and outside temp. Also, the "Mobile-Ease" bluetooth system i would like. Anyone have this? I also called a local dealer today to get a price on the 18" 5 spoke CHROME aluminum wheel listed in the accessories book. I was told the chrome was discontinued. Anyone know about this? Sounds kinda strange, considering its an 06 book and there was not even 18" wheels offered in 05, so that would tell me that these rims were only offered for a couple months?

The Homelink temp mirror is made by Gentex, model 50-GENK50, you may want to check online for it. I got mine for approx $250, had a local car stereo/security shop install it for $50.

What size tires did you go with for those rims? and did you get the rims at Ford?

WOW! THATS GREAT! Thats about a $90 savings. I was wondering, does a wire have to be run outside somehow to tell the outside temp?
