Sorry, it doesn't exist in oe honeycomb. I was going to fab one up for the GT but would require 1 GT doner grill and 2 V6 doner grilles and a lot of time. Doing a V6 grill w/o pony wouldn't be half bad if you are clever, handy etc.

I guess I'm asking about a source to get a sheet of the honeycomb to fabricate as a new single piece. Any ideas? How about talking with the aftermarket vendors? Any you could recommend?

Cervini, as they make the center fog in honeycomb. I think you could get a doner grill that would give you the material to fill in where you remove the pony. Not saying this is a slam dunk but with fine cutting, dremel, etc and testing on adhesive strategy I think this is doable.

If they dont have it....make it. I like that....and I do hate that horse on the front grille. I guess its time to take the old dremel out.

What I mostly don't like about the pony is the black plastic surround. Couldn't they just have had a pony attached with a bracket so that it would be easily removeable. ...too much molded plastic going on these days. Anyway, before cutting out the plastic surround make sure you have a properly curved piece already fabricated as needed from a doner grill(s). Also make sure you have tested adhesive properties on the doner grill, determining what works best... might be one of a couple form of abs or pvc cement or possibly contact cement, or two part epoxy. You don't want any evidence of modification. I have looked at this and unfortunately the pony disrupts 4 center honeycombs(at least on the GT grill it does); a doner grill only gives you two center useable ones so you will need 2 doner grills to stand a chance. With this I believe this is very possible. ...and when done you will have the only one in the world. ...worth the effort considering that.

Barring the locating of a source for the material ... check this out ... custom grille ... black versus silver ... hmmmmm ... I say "black"
What do you think? Any concerns you can think of besides price?

Agree black. Don't want their logo, does that come off? Would need to have them send me large pics of this. It talks about a frame which is good but I'd need to see a close up of the whole thing. What is the mesh like, frame, installation methodology/instructions. Could be junk, could be nice, can't tell. Can't even tell from the pic how fine the mesh is. The one thing about the "one off" OE honeycomb is it is just that, "one of a kind". But yeah if you can get some closeup pics from them so no surprises and logo is removeable then maybe. One caution if the mesh is painted vs. powder coated is that it will be prone to chipping and that is just annoying. Cleaning may be a challenge as well. I wouldn't go for it if it was painted. Don't want to be negative with ya, just don't want ya to get somethin that is not the solution you are looking for and waste your money. See what you can get for info from them...

Good points. What can you see in these instruction pics? My laptop is 1920x1200, so the pics look very small to me.

is powdercoated but looks chinsy and they are simply installing as a basic overlay grill. UGH!!!!!! The pony and OE honeycomb sit behind it. Up close that would be horrific. It's a cheap piece of junk. Even CDC's billet is an overlay grill. I can't stand slapping things onto these cars and that's what these grills are.

Went to Ebay: 1st one in ABS plastic looks great: 2nd one I think I asked questions about on a GT ver and they never answered, like what's it made of. But these look like full replacement (no overlay) and cheap money. One or both of these could be puurrrrrfect. You want one piece, snap in OE slots, first one and maybe both do this. (ABS plastic is fine, no chipping, easy clean, just like OE, just not honeycomb)
