Injectors and the Saleen SC

Injectors and the Saleen SC
I'm just wondering, for those who have installed the Saleen charger, what size injectors are you using and where did you get them? I keep having ppl tell me I should go with bigger injectors when I install the charger.....just wanna know what size I should go with, and more importantly: where I can get them.

RE: Injectors and the Saleen SC
My saleen setup came from JDM, they sold me 39 lb cobra injecters to go with the blower, and the tuneup to match. You should contact your tuner for the proper info, so you get it right though, your tuner might have differant parts in mind. For a really hot setup, even the 39 lb jobs will come up short. Also, ithink they need to program the computer for the injecter size??

Yea, I think I will also be going thru JDM, so I guess I'll just get the injectors from them. I'm not really looking to make a street rocket......just a good street fighter making 400-420 rwhp.

Not too sure about the warranty. But I've heard from ppl who have installed the Saleen charger that Saleen's PCM tune is extremely conservative.....not hardly even making the advertised +100hp. On top of that, I do not like the idea of mailing them a vital component of my car for a simple reflash, just rediculous. A few tuner companies like JDM have done a fair amount of their own experimenting and testing on the new Saleen SC and have come up with some really good tunes for it. JDM has even manufactured a series of different pulleys for the Saleen that let you up the boost. Just seems to me that if you're looking to make the most of your series 6 purchase, a company like JDM will be your best bet.

I have the same setup and agree JDM is a good safe tune. I think you will need the MAF with the injectors. Don't waste the shipping to get the Saleen tune. I went 12.67 @ 108 with the JDM tune. I'm currently trying a JMS tune which makes a little more power. Last night I went 12.26 @ 111 with good traction. I would say the JMS street tune is about 2 tenths faster than the JDM race tune. I'm sure if you had JDM tune the car in house they could get more power than just getting a mail order tune.

just wondered what did Saleen say? I would think those guys would at least tell ya if you needed more injector and at what boost. They should know and you know they have tested more situations than anyone here......

With the Saleen S/C run the 39lb injectors and 90mm MAF. Take your car to get it tuned, mail order tunes are okay, but I didn't have any luck with my mail order tune. Get the Xcal II and save the tune from Saleen (tuner will save it for you). If you have any problems with the S/C, install stock injectors and MAF, then tune back to stock, have problem check. I live in San Diego and Mossy Ford in PB didn't void my warranty, even after I retune the car with a different tune. Mossy Ford also installs Saleen S/C's and now Vortec S/C's. Find someone in your area that knows how to tune these car's. Ask them if they know how to lock the trans in 4th for the dyno tune, if they DON'T, find someone else to do it.
I've been through hell with my car already, and turned out to be the S/C hitting firewall. Short story - Installed headers, motor mounts not torque caused motor to shift, cause s/c to hit firewall, had Mossy Ford fix problem by positioning the motor correctly on sub frame and torquing bolts, cost $500. But I'm happy now.
