U guys think we're getting screwed by aftermarket perfomance parts for 05/06's?
I have just started looking around at aftermarket stuff for my 05 gt and I noticed 05 parts were higher than late model parts. The more I looked the more I realized that almost all parts are more expensive for the new mustangs. Either this is to help them pay off their R&D and tooling costs or they're just plain out screwing us on these parts. So how many years will it take till the prices go down to what the older parts cost?

Wouldn't the fact that this Mustang is completley different from the others make a difference in the price? New style etc? A brand new motorcycle such as the Honda VTX 1800, comes out and it takes a year or two for aftermarket parts to catch up. You can bet the guys that create things for a bike like this with limited supply of their creation make a killing!

well if you think about it, there are really only a few brands right now offering parts, so there is small amount of competition...meaning they can all screw us and there is nothing we can do about it as long as no other companies catch up

Also take into the size of the market. There market for the '05 and up is a lot smaller than that of the previous gen. Although it's fun for some to see it as greed, that isn't the case.

You people are crazy. There are more suppliers and performance parts providers for the s197 then any previous generation and there are more "wannabe" enthusiasts for the new car as well. Yes we are being screwed big time. A good example being the prices of axlebacks being more than previous gen cat-backs when they were new. As long as you pay dealer mark-ups, they will continue to charge them. As long as you pay these rediculous prices, they will charge them. So now go bend over...
