ford motorsport Headers.
Wanted to know how much power increase (hp) would someone get from the ford motor sport headers with the stock gt 2005 pipes. and would i lose my factory warranty for installing them or not.

RE: ford motorsport Headers.
I heard shorties do nothing , where the longtube headers are good for 25 - 30 horsepower. I don't know if that is at the wheels or regular. I haven't seen these headers that are in question. Also there is no doubt you will have to get a tune for them.

RE: ford motorsport Headers.
Sorry Speedeamon, but you know a bunch of folks have probably already plopped down for their shortys and as Daniel said, the dyno tests seen so far are not encouraging. At least one of the Mustang mags (I'll find the reference for you later if you like) tested a bunch of the shortys and found the best gain to be 5rwhp w/most coming in at +3-4rwhp. That's hardly a "bang for your buck" mod...more like "pippity-pop for your buck...(or should I say bucks, these can be quite expensive)." Long-tubes are a different story, and I think once again Daniel is correct. On the whole, the stock system is proving itself to be really well executed...and there are so many other things to modify!
BTW, I asked my dealership about headers (long or short) and they're pretty cool with being "on the down low" about mods, but they said headers were a no-no. As you'll no doubt notice on this board, lots of folks point out legal issues regarding how/when a warranty must be upheld, but the bottom line is that some of this stuff is just giving your dealership ammunition for their case. We all make our own decisions on what level of risk and aggravation we're willing to take.
Best,
