I honestly haven't seen any reliable turbo kits out there yet. I woud love to have gone for a big turbo to make crazy HP (900 rwhp) but the very few kits available for that kind of power require some serious modifying to your engine bay. I for one, don't really want to lose a headlight and have a mecha-godzilla looking contraption for a front end. No matter how big I go, I am not changing my committment to have a street driveable car. The KB pushing 18-20 psi will easily get you where you want to go with your new motor.

rattsj - I'll let you know about the heads after Monday. I have come accross what appears to be a great deal and just want to verify it on Monday before I give anybody information. You know the saying - if it seems to good to be true.... So I just want to talk to the company personally on Monday.

i'm happy to see things are finally moving for you. did you ever consider using the 5.4 iron block. it's a bit heavier but probably easier to obtain. i think thats my thing for next winter. 5.4 shortblock 11:1 compression and some cams/valvetrain components.
is your 5.0 stroker a 3.70 bore or stock bore with long stroke? i anxious to see how it holds up with your power adders. you have all the best parts so that shouldn't be an issue. i just wonder about ring placement on the stock bore strokers especially on street cars.
It's a whole lot cheaper too but weight was the issue. That block is WAY heavier. It's a 3.70 bore and It should be fine up to 800-900 HP. Ring placement is my concern also. Adam seems to think my 700 hp (on the juice) won't be an issue. You being more into weight than even me - I'm surprised you would consider it (unless your considering changing your n/a status...LOL) Unless....hmmmm your looking for that displacement gain so you can still get the N/A HP.....smile - couple hundred pounds more wouldn't really matter then, would it?? Your getting, what, 2 hp for every extra cubic inch, right?
JDM has adapted the aluminum 5.4 to work in the mustang, it's 90 lbs lighter than the iron. I just read about it in muscle mustangs and fast fords. http://www.teamjdm.com/articles/JDM_Motor.pdf

i already called about that block...it's $4000....uh yeah.....and it's for a dry sump oiling system. it costs another $500-1000 to machine it for a wet sump system. it would cost about $10k for a shortblock using that block. it's saweet though. just can't justify spending that much for a bare block with no machine work and no internals. i can buy a new ford 5.4 3V block for $500-1000 machined and ready for assembly. internals $1200-2000 depending on quality and sizes of components. under $4k for everything and only adds 90lbs. i've already lost more than 100lbs. off the front with the k/member and rad support+ moved the battery. i'll trade 90lbs for 75-100 hp any day.
