Booster seat/Car seat for 05-06 Mustang
So has anyone used any booster seats or car seats that work decent in the new Mustang? I have two girls 4 and 6 years old and we will occasionally take them in the Mustang once we figure out the car seats.
I have two seatbelt extenders on order from Ford to make it easier to plug the seat belt in since the buckles are tucked into the seat so far. Problem we have is that the seats are so deep and narrow that we can't set the booster seat onto them. The booster we have falls in and the booster is tilted on it's side. I guess I would need to either put something under the seat to keep it flat, buy a booster with a bigger base or ?????????
Anyone use any seats successfully or should I just get rid of the kids.

it is not just the 05-06's...Mustangs are not made for children. The back seat is useless, my 9 year old can not sit behind her mother or I in one of our 2 Mustangs (86 and 02). We bought a Magnum

I have the same issue...with the limited amount of time a child is back there I've just decided to let the seat sit a bit tilted...she's only two...and hasn't submitted a notarized formal written complaint in triplicate...yet

I put 2 Eddie Bauer car/booster seats in the back of my vert for my 3 and 4 yr old daughters. Really no issues, they fit fine. However I did boost them up about 1.5 inches in the front and 3 inches in the rear by putting together some scrap cedar wood I had. You can't see it but it makes a difference in that now they can see out better. You may be able to see them if you enlarge the pic.

I think I may try putting some wood under the back to make the booster seat sit at the right height as well. Plus the kids will be a little higher so it does not feel like they are in a cave.
I a picture of how much room you have with the eddie bauer seats would be nice if you have a chance. How tall are you?

I used 3 pieces of 2x6 cedar and screwed them together to make a "U:" shape and placed it under the seats with the bottom of the U towrd the back. So the rear is raised 3" and the front 1 1/2"

I used the biggest, heaviest book I could find (about 4" tall) to place under the booster seat for my 4 yr old...(it's actually an encyclopedia on general Auto repair/info)
This kept it from "tilting"...it works great now...didn't plan on using the booster that much but my 4 yr old throws a fit if he doesn't get to ride in "the fast car" when we all go out....and hey, who am I to not give the kid what he wants?
The booster has an adjustable, tilting back. It's not exactly reclined, but it's definitely comfortable/safe for the little one...
