How do you disengage side retainers at the wheel wells where bumper meets the Qut. panel.

Make sure you remove the screws on the inside of the wheel well. Pull near the top, you have to put alot of pressure on it, and it should just pop. The rear wiring harness may be caught up somewhere as well.

Thanks, I'll give it a try tomorrow.

was a very simple install, remove the tail lamps, inner panel, wheel well screws, pull on the sides by the fender wells to disengage, then the bumper pops right ff. Install is opposite

So I just got this done yesterday and I just noticed that on the left side just behind the wheel well where the bumper meets the rear quarter panel, the bumper portion sticks out slightly, what would be the best way to get that to push in and say in?

I'll take it back to the dealer who did it for me if I have to, but if its easy I'd rather just do it myself.

If its easy i'd rather just do it myself? Wait a minute didn't you just finish saying you will take it back to the dealer that originally installed it? lol anyways I to have that problem with it not being flush. I've been told different temperatures affect it? Weird i've noticed that on all my 2010+stangs and this is the fourth one i've had so the variance has been noticeable on them all. Kind of like the trunk lids need a little adjusting to close evenly Some days my back bumper looks great others it seems pushed in a little and pulling it out doens't help as it goes right back in. The same for my front especially on the drivers side like this morning it looked even yesterday afternoon changing out the jhr shifter it looked pushed in? What can I say lol its a ford bought in the usa built with parts from everywhere but the usa&assembled mostly outside the usa hey!

I was originally going to do it myself, but the dealership screwed something up on me awhile ago (nothing major) and when this part came in for me they offered to install for free. It looks great, and honestly I can't remember if it was flush before.

I would rather not take it back I was just curious if this was a common issue. Thanks for the history lesson though.
