Lack of Options for 2010 V6 Premium Grill - Thinking of Painting Mine
#21
looks much better blacked out grille. You probably could have ordered a regular V6 grille with out the pony emblem and then they could have painted it black for you or you could have done it. I can't believe you took the grille on and off a few times. I did it once with my grille, not hard, but more of a pain bc I didn't really like popping off the plastic front end. Nice job though w/ the black

I've taken this thing off like 6 times now, so I know the little tricks to make it easier. You're right about ordering the other grill. I'm now wondering what it would look like in other colors. Once I figure out what I want, I'll probably just take it off again, strip it down with a wire brush and have it painted whatever color I go with. Right now it's gray (to match the stripes) with a black pony logo (handpainted with black paint). I'll post pics of that as well. I won't stop until I'm a hundred percent satisfied

Yeah, I painted the bedliner, which is over a base layer of paint I think it will come off pretty easily since there is paint under the bedliner. It looks good now but I may like the "smoother" look of a paint color (after I figure out what looks best). The bedliner has a texture to it and looks a little "less refined" in my opinion.

Ha! Exactly! The intent here is to come up with something original, different. That's why I'm looking for the best color option. The gray color I have now with the painted pony logo looks pretty good. It just looks a little "rough" because of the bedliner. I'll probably strip the whole thing and go with the same gray on a smooth surface.
