removal of rocker panel decals

removal of rocker panel decals
I would like to remove the rocker panel decals off my car. I have never been a big fan of stickers. Just wondering what the best method is and will there be any residue from the stickers. And if so what is the best way to get that off. Also has anyone here painted the black plastic on their cars to body color (rocker panels & rear valance 2010) Thanks in advance!!

Heat gun, plastic razors and patience will get the vinyl off. Goo gone will get the mess off and Klasse All In One will get any mess that leaves.
IMO, painting the rocker/rear panels body color makes the car look somewhat obese like the '05-'09 GT's (the sixxers and the Shelby had the black rockers).
Discodave painted his a different color and it turned out great.

I still have to post an Avatar picture but I think the pics I have are too big, so have to adjust my blackberry to take smaller pics, but they are Black stripes that go across and say Mustang towards the front of the doors. I saw discodaves and it does look nice. I think his match his stripes if I'm not mistaken. I think I might just like to paint the rear valance versus the rockers too but was interested in seeing if anyone had painted theirs.
How about using a pressure washer to strip them off or do you think that could hurt the body?

The decals are very easily removed. Think of them as being like Scotch tape stuck to your car. Just start peeling on one corner and peel back from there. There is no need for extremes. One thing about the rocker decals is that they are made to match the interior. On mine they look great IMO because they are black like my interior. I have seen others with different colored interiors and the decals look really wacky.

I'd use a hair dryer and my fingernail to start it, and use te hair dryer in front as I slowly pulled the sticker. if there is any adhesive left, use some bug and tar remover then chase with some wax.
