Torch Red GT - to stripe or now to stripe?
Hi all - I've got a 2010 torch red GT. So far the only mod is a blackout panel from SLP (on the way), but I'm looking to add some stripes in flat black, in particular for the hood. Any pics or 2010+ red mustang would help me decide on the style that would look best.

I believe these are matte black.
I the sun is REALLY bright in that pic it seems and may be causing it to shine a bit more.
Also looks like the car was just waxed.
Matte black on torch red is an awesome idea!
We had them but put them on a black 06GT.
I think the 8" stripes are best.
As you can see the car in this pic also has a pinstripe beside the racing stripes.
If you do this I caution you not to get too thick a pin stripe. It just looks ODD.
I would go no bigger than a 1/2 inch pin. As a matter of fact that is the best size
to match these cars I have seen.

Im not a fan of the stripes that don't go all the way down from bumper to bumper.
They look kinda unfinished.
Plus look at the edge of the hood in that pic.
Notice the stripe stops about an inch before the lip of the hood by the
grille. That once inch gap REALLY makes it look incomplete when you see
it in real life. I HATE it when they do not cover the whole panel (hood for example),
that looks even worse than them not going from bumper to bumper.
You can REALLY see the edges where the stripe ends on those kind of stripes
and REALLY tell it is vinyl and not painted. When looking at them in person they almost look like a stripe sticker you could buy at Pep Boys or something.
Kinda cheap looking. (Sorry if I offend anyone with these type of stripes. I am merely giving my opinion and must be honest.)

What about this: http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...3147929807921? I know those are painted on but any idea where I could find that in vinyl, short of a custom order.

You can find kits like that all over.
Again I don't think that stripe job looks complete.
I'd be looking at a stripe that goes all the way down from start of front bumper all the way down to the end of the back.
Again... with those that dont go all the way down... the ones that actually stop BEFORE the hood even stops REALLY looks incomplete to me and looks like something you could get at Pep Boys. Not trying to offend but it just does not look complete or professional. Looks like a half-assed job that someone was just looking to slap a stripe of any sort on. Sorry but not my cup of tea.
Most of us guys here are either full blown stripe guys or superstripe guys which often do not go ALL the way down, but still look great and professional in the way it is done.
You need to be looking at places like
www.baltimorestreetmods.com for good quality vinyl jobs that don't look painted and are
well made and fit very nicely to each curve of the car.
