Painted calipers with Duplicolor
I finally got around to painting my calipers. I think they they came out great,
nice contrast against the blue body. I put on three coats. I was nervous about getting an orange color but they came out more red after every coat.

My car only has about 1200 miles on it and has never even been out in the rain so the calipers were not dirty at all. I just gave them a good spraying with the cleaner that came with the kit.

Did you polish them first or just clean them?
Many metal parts are cast, then machined as required for the function. The cast surface has a texture.
The polishing is to remove the texture, so that once painted the final result is glossy.
That's what I did on my calipers.
Also, on my marine parts I polish first, then apply a metal prep, then an epoxy, then lightly sand again, more epoxy and then a finish coat. The result is a glossy plastic finish.
On most metal parts I use a right-angle air die grinder and woven pads.
