Anyone figure out yet what that single black pin is for that came with the Saleen grille? After seeing the huge gap between the grille and bumper cover in the center I'm thinking we're supposed to drill a hole for that pin.

don't drill any holes ... Stick one or two pieces of cardboard between the foam insulator and your bumper cover. It will lift the cover and fill the gap.

That is how I got my gapless install ...

Not at all.

As far as that pin... I dunno. I didn't use it. I don't see a gap in my car, do you?

Yeah, I'm going to do the cardboard shims today. It's just really disappointing that a $200 part from Saleen would have such a crappy fit and require cardboard shims like this.

Well, to Saleen's defense, their grille was designed and built to fit their front fascia, not the stock one. Moreover, compared to most aftermarket "tuner" companies, the fit and finish of the new Saleen Mustang's body panels are OEM-level and quality, IMO.

True enough. I actually thought the their front fascia was closer to the stock fascia lines than what I'm seeing here. The grille still looks great and I'm glad I bought it.

Heck yeah, man, make sure you post some pics of your new grille once you get it installed! I'm still debating on whether to go this route...

Yeah ... I never bitched about the gap since I figured it was made for their bumper cover and not OEM ... super easy fix with a cardboard shim ...
